Obviously after having our camp rudely taken away from us a couple of times we are no longer meeting in the nice warm tents. Unfortunately we now have meet in the Tron Tavern, Hunter Sq. 6pm every Monday.
Anyone is welcome to attend the GA, add a relevant point to the agenda and/or speak.
The GA works on a consensus basis and attempts to give everyone the opportunity to speak if they wish. We ensure this is efficiently managed through use of hand signals which are run through at the start of every GA:
- You must put your hand up if you wish to speak and the facilitator will get to you.
- If you wish to make a direct factual statement to a previous point you raise both hands.
- To agree with what is being said we use high ‘jazz hands’, to disagree we use low ‘piano fingers’.
- If you feel so strongly opposed to a point that you will leave if we continue then you can block by crossing your arms. (this is highly symbolic and should only be used in extreme circumstances)
- If you wish to make a proposal you signal a ‘P’ with your hands
